To commemorate Chanukah this year, kids of Jewish Voice for Peace Atlanta and the greater Atlanta community are speaking out for the kids in Gaza.

The kids did an art build in which they created the image above. Their art was then photographed and placed on two billboards in Metro Atlanta; one in a predominately Arab neighborhood to show solidarity, and one in a predominately Jewish neighborhood to send a strong reminder that as we're lighting our Chanukah candles, children in Gaza are being hurt and killed. 

Our children crafted this message because they want people to know that they see the children beyond the headlines. They want to raise their voices and say “it’s not fair that you’re experiencing war,” and “it’s time for the destruction of your homes to stop.” 

The kids met their fundraising goal to place the billlboards, so now starts the second phase of the project. We need YOU to help us raise money for HEAL Palestine which provides severely injured Gazan children access to medical care by evacuating them to specialized care facilities in the US. 

Earlier this month, HEAL worked tirelessly to be able to finally welcome Habiba, a 12 year old girl from Gaza who just arrived in Atlanta for medical treatment needed as a result of Israel's bombings. Many community members and children greeted Habiba and her Aunt at the Atlanta airport when she arrived. We're praying for Habiba's recovery, and want to help HEAL bring more children from Gaza to the US so they can heal.
