My name is Adham Al-Madhoun. I am a father of five children from Gaza. Among them is my youngest son, Mohammed, a sweet, resilient, and bright 7-year-old boy who is now facing a devastating health crisis.
Mohammed was once able to walk, play, and ride a bike — small joys that brought him so much happiness even amidst the hardship of life under blockade. But after months of displacement, famine, and lack of medical care, Mohammed’s condition has deteriorated. He now cannot walk at all, and without urgent intervention, he may lose the ability to walk permanently.
He has been diagnosed with muscle weakness and severe bone imbalance, and a doctor has confirmed he needs surgery to straighten his bones, followed by long-term physical rehabilitation. While he is currently being fitted for temporary prosthetics to help with immediate mobility, this is only a short-term solution. Mohammed urgently needs specialized surgery and care to address his condition and give him the best chance at walking again.
We are happy to provide doctor's notes and other updates on his condition.
A Family of Artists, Now Struggling to Survive
Before the war, our family found peace in art. It was something we often did together — a way to connect and find moments of joy. Today, we spend most of our time searching for food and struggling to survive. There is no room left for creativity when your children are in pain, hungry, and at risk of permanent disability.
Five Displacements. No Stability.
Since the genocide began, we have been displaced five times — from the north of Gaza to Khan Yunis, then Rafah, then Hani Nes, back to the north, and now in the middle of Gaza. Each time, our living conditions became more desperate. We are doing the best we can for our family but we need help.
Mohammed has been especially affected. He previously had access to food that helped him stay strong, but now — after severe malnutrition and a total breakdown in medical access — his mobility is gone. He has never been to school. He hasn’t had regular baths. He has no access to proper clothing or stability. Our family has even had to separate due to lack of space.
What Your Donation Will Support
Thanks to the support of volunteers and advocates, Mohammed will be brought to the United States for care — but we need your help to fund the full scope of his needs. All donations will go directly toward Mohammed’s recovery and future, including:
-
Medical evacuation to the U.S.
-
Surgery and physical rehabilitation
-
Ongoing medical care and mobility support
-
Surgery, prosthetics, and long-term orthopedic care
-
Mental health and trauma counseling
-
A translator to support him during treatment
-
Daily needs: food, housing, clothing
-
Access to an education — something he has never had before
Every Donation Brings Hope
Mohammed’s future depends on timely care. With your help, he can receive the surgery he needs, begin walking again, and finally experience safety, healing, and learning.
Even a small donation can change his life. Please share this fundraiser with others and help us give Mohammed the future he deserves.
Thank you,
Adham Al-Madhoun
