New York City Educators for Palestine is a collective of teachers, social workers, paraprofessionals, school aides, and community members working in and outside of New York City public schools to do what we can to bring about the liberation of Palestine.
We believe that all the world's children are our children. In the absence of any institutional movement on the part of our union (the United Federation of Teachers) or our employer (the NYC Department of Education) to stop or even acknowledge Israel's documented genocide of over 75,000 Palestinians (by conservative estimates), the onus falls on us to stand in solidarity with our colleagues in Gaza, who continue, amidst profound loss and unimaginable circumstances, to do what educators do: care for children.
This project raises funds to directly support HEAL Palestine's school in Khan Younis, which opened in July 2026 and provides a stable learning environment for 1,500 children. At the time of the school's opening, NYC Educators for Palestine had raised over $9,000 for HEAL. We are eager to reach our goal of $20,000 by this winter. What could be more urgent than supporting the education and nourishment of Gaza's children?
