When we gather to celebrate by birthday on March 22nd, we will be finishing our run at the spot pictured above; the edge of Laimos, one of the most beautiful parts of the Athenian Riviera. How unbelievably lucky we all are!

Despite all the challenges we may be facing in our personal, social or professional lives, we are infinitely more fortunate than the children of Gaza. 

All they have known in their innocent lives is blind violence, occupation, fear, loss of loved ones, loss of limbs, loss of eyes, loss of their childhood. No matter what your politics may be, it would take a very cynical person to deny that what has transpired in Gaza since October 2023 constitutes anything less than genocide.

The HEAL Palestine organization is one that verifiably directs all the proceeds from donations to actually, practically helping children. I ask for you to forego any gift that you may have thought of getting for my birthday and donate the same amount to where it is really needed. I will match every euro you donate, doubling our collective kindness.

The thought of even a single child just like my Rami, Luca or Marielena will have a chance at a better life is the best gift I could ever hope for on my 50th birthday.
