Why Donate? 

On 20 December, the United Nations stated people in Gaza were experiencing "alarming levels of hunger". On 21 December, the United Nations stated more 50% of Gaza were officially in famine. Since then the conditions have only gotten worse and worse, with almost all humanitarian workers, from the likes of Antonio Gutteres (Secretariat of the UN) saying this is "the worst sight ever seen in their careers". 

HEAL.Palestine, founded by Steve Sosebee has been serving the children of Gaza for more than two decades. HEAL has a food program on the ground which is feeding thousands of children a day in Gaza, and your donation will enable them to keep our kitchens working and feeding more children. 

HEAL so far has: 

• built a functioning field hospital in Khan Yunis, Gaza 
• one of the main organisation bringing kids out of Gaza for free healthcare; 12 children out of Gaza so far and more on the way.
• Have a Mental health program in Gaza 
• Operate Kitchen in Dier al Balah that feeds over 5000 people everyday
• Opened a new kitchen in Khan Yunis and possibly in Rafa after the ground invasion
• Have a mental health program in Egypt for children coming in from Gaza

This August we will be climbing Kilimanjaro while raising funds for HEAL's program to provide food in Gaza. 

A Guardian Article outlines that all Gaza residents have reached a "crisis" stage of hunger, while 50% of them have reached "catastrophic famine". Yet the restrictions on imports of humanitarian needs into Gaza keep getting tighter resulting in more than 25 people killed purely from starvation (Jazeera). Almost all laws and acts like the Rome Statute Act declare this - purposeful imposition of hunger as a war crime, yet the conditions are getting worse and worse. 

With up to 50% of the population under the age of 18, children are disproportionately impacted by the disastrous situation in Gaza.  An entire generation of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip suffers from both physical conditions and life-changing injuries, as well as mental health disorders as a result of desperate living conditions and repeated exposure to war and violence.  Furthered by the lack of food/water which has reportedly caused 50% of the population to suffer from muscle wasting syndrome (where your muscles literally melt away so that your body can use it as fuel).

Kilimanjaro4Gaza is a project that aims to raise funds and awareness of the urgent situation in Gaza by teaming up with HEAL Palestine on the ground which is providing meals to the children who desperately need it in Gaza.
